Happy Halloween!

We've had a dreary Halloween here today - rainy & just plain gross! Good thing we took some pictures outside yesterday before we went to "Trick or Treat" at Daddy's work. Jeremiah was a Fireman this year, which worked out perfectly - especially for our wallet.

Disclaimer: This paragraph is about the awesome deal we were able to get on J's Halloween costume. If you're not interested in my frugality, then skip ahead. Nana bought J some fireman boots this summer at Hamrick's for $3 (because she thought they were cute). Since they were too big then & fit now, that gave me an idea for him to be a Fireman. I noticed one day that Kohl's carries Carter's Dress-up & Play PJs, which includes a fireman version. They were on sale, plus I used a 30% coupon, which made them around $8. Then I really lucked up to find an adorable red Fireman fleece in J's size at the MOPS Consignment sale for $3. So the total cost of his costume was $14 - all of which can continue to be worn after Halloween!! Mimi even brought up a costume "accessory" - a Little People Fireman's truck that has working lights/sirens, as well as a Dalmatian. :)

Instead of "trick or treating" this year, we decided to go to a "Trunk or Treat" at a local church. The weather put a bit of a damper on the bouncy house & hay ride, but the hot dogs & chicken stew were great! They did have the trunks set up & candy to be given out in the rain/drizzle, but we decided it was time to go home and get J ready for bed.

Here are some of our favorite pictures of the little guy in his costume, as well as a Halloween family photo.

Oops! I fell down.
Check out my boots! I like them a lot, but sometimes I have a bit of trouble walking in them.
This photo makes me laugh...he looks like his chest is all "puffed up" and he's "walking tall". Too cute!
Halloween is SO MUCH FUN!!

Fall Pictures at Tanglewood

We headed over to Tanglewood with Mrs. Nicole, Dylan, & Anna to get some fall pictures among all the leaves. What an adventure it was! Just imagine a 15 month old, 22 month old, & an almost-6 year old. Both little ones fell in the leaves multiple time, including a faceplant into some rocks by Jeremiah (if you look closely, you'll see a big goose-egg on his forehead in some of the later pictures). We have many photos featuring the backs of Anna & J's heads from where they were CONSTANTLY walking away from us. Poor Nicole wasn't able to get any group shots. Oh well - we still got some good ones. And now I'm so excited to play with our new camera (Nikon D5000 - digital SLR that takes HD Video!!) some more!!!

We took a lot of pictures that you can see here, but here are some of my favorites from the day.

Random Pics

Here are some recent pictures that don't really have too much of a story behind them, but I wanted to share them with you. I bet you'll be so surprised that they are of J! hahaha :)

Loves his Mommy (and his Mommy feels the same way!!)
Sitting in his rocker at Nana & Popa's house
He really likes his M&M Monkey that Nana brought back from Las Vegas...you press its belly & the monkey says, "I LOOOOOOOVE Chocolate!" And so does Jeremiah :)
Such a happy boy!!
Except when he puts on these jammies that are too small. Well, actually they're not jammies - they are long underwear that Nana bought from the dollar store that I thought might work as PJs. Looks like they will work perfect as long underwear this winter, but not until then.
Putting the LEGO container on Mommy's head sure is fun!
And boy does this kid love his tools!
Trying to "Fix it Right" like Handy Manny - his favorite TV show!
Looks like it's time to clean up!

What a cutie pie!

He's just cute enough to eat! So we tried... :)

All Boy

J has REALLY gotten into throwing balls recently. He walks around the house throwing a ball, saying "ball! ball!" Josh actually managed to capture the balls in mid-air in the following shots & J's expression is hilarious to me. As you can tell he really enjoys it!

Cooking up a storm!

Little J has become a big helper recently...loading the dishwasher, washing dishes, putting clothes in the dryer, and most recently helping me cook! Saturday morning we let Daddy sleep in & made Pumpkin Muffins.

Yummy!

This kid LOVES Oreos :)

and can get a wicked case of bedhead during his naptime.

NC State Fair...A Whole Lotta Happy!

The 3 of us headed to the NC State Fair Sunday morning...it was cloudy & COLD!! Not exactly the great fair weather we were hoping for, but we all had lots of layers on & were determined to make the best of it.

J bundled & ready to ride!

First stop - to see the animals. J was very interested.

He really liked the cows :)

Checking out all the baby chickens with Daddy

Jeremiah & I milked a cow! Well, I milked while Jeremiah sat in my lap, but he was really excited to be so close to the cow.

He reached up to pet the cow several times...it was so cute!

Checking out the cow's head instead of looking at the camera :)

In celebration of our milking, we got a carton chocolate milk & Jeremiah actually drank quite a bit! Pretty good considering his hatred of milk.

There was a LEGO exhibit set up that we HAD to visit of course.

Daddy & Jeremiah playing with the Duplo blocks.

Check out this LEGO SUV!

The 2 guys had fun checking out all the LEGO.

This was at the end of our trip...we were all cold & J was getting really tired.
