Good Luck Granny!

Mommy better stop leaving her computer around because I'm really getting the hang of this blogging thing...in case you haven't figured out, it's me - Jeremiah - again.

I want to wish Granny a very safe surgery & quick recovery!

Who else would feed me chocolate cake at 9 months old and Mommy let get away with it?

Looking forward to eating many more pieces of cake with you...especially at my birthday party!

All my love (and Mommy & Daddy's too!)...Little J

Happy Birthday Mimi!

Hi everyone! It's Little J again. I took over Mommy's computer for a little while to write this post especially for Mimi! I hope you are having a GREAT birthday Mimi...can't wait to see you & Grandpa Jim to celebrate!

Can you believe that just a year ago we were having your BIG 50th Birthday party! Here I am last year...I knew that Uncle Harry was crazy before I even arrived.

It's been quite an eventful year! Here are some of my favorite pictures of us.

You look so happy to finally be a Mimi!

Hanging out at our favorite place...the beach!

Sort of doubt I'll be this calm when we go this year...only a few more weeks!

We always have so much fun when you come down to my level to play.

And only a Mimi would let me kiss all over a brand new mirror in her house.

Enjoying some time together on Easter.

I always get lots of lovin' from you...and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Thanks for always being so silly with me!

Mommy & Daddy told me to tell you Happy Birthday, too! We're looking forward to a yummy birthday lunch on the grill with lots of veggies from the garden. Love you!!!

Laundry Lovin' Boy

I'm not sure why Jeremiah has any toys because all we needed for him to be happy was a laundry basket. Remember this laundry basket adventure? Or how he is such a good helper? And I totally forgot to blog about the last time I let him help with laundry sans diaper. Let's just say that those clothes had to be re-washed & I learned a very valuable lesson that day.

Well, Little J was in another helpful mood recently while I was folding his laundry. Too bad his definition of "help" is to pull out EVERYTHING in the basket one piece at a time to put on the floor. And then destroy all the clean, folded stacks of clothes.

Seriously...I wish I got this excited about doing laundry!

When everything is folded (and I have quickly moved the clean, folded clothes out his J's reach) he can play with the laundry basket as much as he wants!

Happy Father's Day!!

Hello Hanes Sweet Home readers! It's Little J. I hijacked Mommy's computer because I wanted to be sure to wish you a Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

You are the best daddy in the whole world.

You've gotten up in the middle of the night countless times in the last (almost) 11 months to retrieve a lost paci, give me snuggles, or take me to Mommy for some midnight milk.

You bounce & spin me around - and I love it (you know from all the giggles!).

I love when you get down on the floor to play with me and all my toys.

I also love to climb all over you...you're the best jungle gym for me to play on!

I love to sit in your lap and watch ESPN with you...thanks for teaching me the importance of sports so young!

I don't know if anyone has ever told you this, but you're really funny! You can make me laugh almost always - even when I'm in a rotten mood.

I know I'm a bit of a messy eater, and that really drives you crazy, but thanks for dealing with it anyway!

And Mommy said I should especially thank you for all those diapers you've changed!

You are a great dad and I thank God he gave me to you!

I love you, Daddy! Your son, Little J

Hope you like pickles!

We enjoyed a visit from Mimi & Uncle Harry the past few days! We had fun going to some of our favorite shops - Etc. & Hip Chics, going to Big J's softball game, and a first for all of us (except Big J) - getting dinner from Snooks. It may have been a first, but it will definitely not be a last...it was DELICIOUS!! Little J is officially spoiled from all the lovin' he's gotten recently.

Mimi came in not only to visit (which is always fun & wonderful!), but because I sent an S.O.S. to Raleigh since the garden evidently forgot that Nana is at the beach for 2 weeks, leaving me with no help & a lot of produce. In comes Mimi to the RESCUE!! We worked in the garden picking green beans, cucumbers, & squash, as well as weeding the jungle produced from all the rain lately. Today, we worked from about 6:15am until 6:30 tonight weeding, picking, snapping, slicing, pickling, & canning. We were so busy that I didn't even take pictures of this visit except for our adventures today. Take a look...

Cucumbers cut up & waiting to be pickled
(this was only about half of the cucumbers)

Mom & I hard at work in the pickling process

Making Bread & Butter Pickles...yummy!

Final Product: 17 Pints of B&B Pickles
Kosher Dills are next of the pickle list, just for Big J!

Now on to Little J's favorite...GREEN BEANS!
in the snapping process

All snapped & ready to be blanched

Finished Product: 6 Quarts of Home-grown Green Beans

Aren't they pretty!

Daddy & Little J helped too :)

A lot of work, but now we have plenty of pickles and a good start to our green bean stash for the upcoming year. We're going to have a boatload of green beans by Monday or Tuesday, so here's another S.O.S. to anyone who wants to help! :)

Macaroni Head

Oh what fun, messy world we live in now that Little J gets to eat table foods! Here he is enjoying some Velveeta Rotini & Cheese with Broccoli.

It's fun to play in the rotini!

and shove it in your mouth...

Why not leave a little for later on your head?

The fun stops here...cheese in your eyes...not the best feeling.
These photos were quickly followed by a good scrubbing in the duck tub!

Redneck Swimming Pool

Nana & Popa live the country life...they have tractors & a garden, lots of trees on several acres of land, a Gator that Little J loves to ride, there even seems to be rumors of a few cows coming their way. Today they showed us their country swimming pool, which Nana lovingly called a "Redneck Swimming Pool". Turns out Little J loves ALL swimming pools, Redneck or not. Remember, he is a Water Bug!

Checking out the "pool"...

He loved to raise himself up, then lower himself back down...over & over & over again

Looking around at all his spectators

Domino needed to make sure he was "fresh"

Found the ducky!

Splashing with Ducky

I know I'm cute (& spoiled rotten!)

You don't think he had fun, do you?

No, not at all :)

He was worn out after all that splashing, so he took a nap & then hung out with Dale in the recliner watching Bob the Builder & ESPN
